Biography
I am Korean but currently pursuing a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering & Entrepreneurship at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. I did my undergraduate research on Parkinson’s disease with graphene quantum dots, student research assistant under Prof. Chen Peng. My previous internship was MSD at Mass spec team (proteomics and workflow development).
Research Interests
Flavor poses a challenge in many plant-based food but can be addressed by using fermentation to both enhance desirable flavors and reduce off-flavors. However, different microbes perform differently depending on their interactions and the substrates. To address this challenge, we are developing an approach leveraging on genome-scale AI-based metabolic modelling and metatranscriptomic data. This will help to elucidate the metabolic capacity of individual strains within the context of the community and their contributions to flavor productions. Such an understanding will enable us to design more effective microbial composition.
